From Lockdown With Love
Lockdown in the UK began on the evening of March 23rd. Hearing about the stringent lockdown rules in other European countries, we prepared the week before and bought a second-hand exercise bike and an 8’ x 4’ board to use as a ping-pong table. We are lucky to have a large flat and the back half of a garden with a shed. Like many families, lockdown was spent doing schoolwork, work, P.E. with Joe and finding ways to entertain ourselves at home. For myself, it was also spent waiting for and then undergoing three weeks of radiotherapy treatment. As I needed a project during this period, I volunteered with the local mutual aid group and documented our daily family life. The penultimate photograph is of the last clap for the NHS and Carers on May 27th. The last photo in this series was taken after my final radiotherapy session.
