I am a photographer and artist, living and working in London.
Many years ago, I was shooting a portrait session when my subject showed me his family album. One of the photos slipped out and on the back were written the words:
"Always alert for tomorrow the world and I'm takin' it."
They could be the words of a song but for me this quote cuts to the heart of what it is to be a photographer. That is why I have chosen this picture of the Red Arrows at Warrington Air Show to illustrate this page.
I usually photograph people - as naturally as possible - and often spend time chatting and getting to know them before taking any pictures.
I have shot exhibitions, artworks and sculptures for catalogue publication for The Ashmolean Museum and The Hayward Gallery. Other clients have included: Warner Bros., The Guardian and Independent supplements and Die Zeit.
I have also written and directed funded short films and a documentary which have been shown across Europe in festivals, and drawn storyboards for commercials and BBC Drama.
