A Winter of Tiers and Lockdown
23 March 2021 - one year on from the beginning of the first lockdown. It has been a tough winter for Londoners and these photos reflect the need to explore the outside world and the distance that we have all kept from one another during the pandemic. The second photo reminds me of an art installation by Christo. The council wrapped the exercise machines in orange netting in Finsbury Park to prevent people from using them. In this last lockdown the exercise machines were surrounded with barriers but contractors had to reinstall them every two days. Now, just as spring is emerging, the council has built a great metal fence around the entire area. Elsewhere, Xavier and Cece practice their dance routine and Ace, the dog, takes the sun.
